Finding Beauty in Time

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

I saw this verse twice yesterday in different places, so I had to stop and pause this morning to reflect on what God may be trying to show me.

In this passage, Solomon has offered a list of life events and how each one has a time: a time to be born, and a time to die (v.2); a time to weep, and a time to laugh (v.4); a time to keep silence, and a time to speak (v.7), etc.

Yet, in verse 11, he gives an overall statement…that God has made everything…even the hard things…beautiful in its time.

That means that 1.) nothing God makes, creates, or allows is without purpose and meaning, 2.) that everything we experience has an appointed time, and 3.) even the hard things can offer beauty [in time].

Did you know that God is the Master of bringing beauty from ashes?

So, whatever it is that you are going through right now, just know that it has boundaries which are measured by God. It will not last forever.

Likewise, there is something beautiful He wants you to glean from your experiences. Perhaps it is simply learning to lean on Him. Maybe it is learning to be thankful. Or, it’s possible you are going through a difficult season in order to gain experience that will help someone else one day.

Whatever it is, remember that “He has made EVERYTHING beautiful in its time.”
